Limited Edition by Carmen and Alec Soth
Commissioned by Photoworks for Brighton Photo Biennial 2010: New Documents, curated by Martin Parr, renowned American photographer Alec Soth collaborated with his seven-year-old daughter, Carmen, to create a new body of work about Brighton. Exploring the city, Carmen took images that combine poetic and documentary sensibilities. Carmen liked taking pictures of dogs best of all and this print demonstrates her low perspective and the freshness of her composition. Alec Soth is celebrated for his offbeat images, spurred by an avid curiosity, a wanderlust, and an openness to serendipity.
