International artist Nadav Kander explored the ideas and relationships between contemporary art and documentary practice in response to Brighton Photo Biennial 2010 New Documents, curated by Martin Parr. Photoworks presented this talk in partnership with University of Brighton MA Photography department and Brighton Photo Biennial 2010.
Kander’s photographs have appeared in numerous publications and collections worldwide. In 2009, The New York Times Magazine devoted an entire issue to his 52 portraits of President Obama’s inaugural administration, Obama’s People. In 2009, Kander was named International Photographer of the Year at the 7th Annual Lucie Awards and the prestigious Prix Pictet Earth was awarded for his series Yangtze, The Long River.
