Call for Submissions

Margate Photo Festival 3

Margate Photo Festival invite submissions from photographers and curators dealing with social and political issues for the third annual MPF showing 10-12 August 2012.

Individual project submissions and space submissions to curate a space are open now and free to enter.

submissions deadline: 1 June 2012

Judges:


Charlotte Cotton - is a writer, curator and an original cultural thinker.

Diane Smyth - writes and is the deputy editor of British Journal of Photography. www.bjp-online.com

Raphaelle Stopin - is a critic, curator at the Hyeres festival and art director of ArtLigue in Paris.

Trish Morrissey - is an artist making work that visits minute social territories to great effect. www.trishmorrissey.com


About:

Margate Photo Festival (MPF) promotes socially engaged photography.

MPF are building a community of artists/curators/educators/activists to explore photography's role as an active force for change within contemporary society. To this end, projects selected will deal with social/political issues affecting contemporary society, work with communities, social projects (and audience participation) or some mix thereof.

Projects involving mixed media, talks or workshops are not only allowed but actively encouraged.
