Dipyaman Ganguly

The present images come from an ongoing series of urban street photography. People come to the city and they become the city. A solemn sense of anonymity drowns them.

I wanted to capture this anonymity through these images. Images of people evoke emotions. But those emotions are also abstract and give one a sense of the city, not the people themselves. People become singular amidst the plurality and the plurality becomes preeminent.

I describe myself as a serious amateur photographer. My works have been part of many group shows including MayaDarpan Photoscapes in India and Soho Photo Small Works 2011 in New York City.
