Photoworks and the MA Photography course at the University of Brighton presented a series of talks by artists, editors and curators working with contemporary photography.

Intended to benefit practitioners and professionals pursuing a career in the field of contemporary photography, these events will also provide an insight into the production and contextualisation of photography for anyone interested in contemporary art.

Bettina von Zwehl has built an international reputation for her subtle and unnerving photographic portraits. The pictures reveal not the conscious projection of an identity but a space between the subject%u2019s private and thoughtful world and their public appearance. Bettina discussed her recent work, the ideas informing her practice and her monograph co published by Photoworks and Steidl.
