Biography: Claerbout achieved widespread acclaim for his contribution to the second Berlin Biennale in 2001 and he has also collaborated with the DIA Center, NY, in a project for the internet (see www.diacenter.org/claerbout). In October 2004 a major exhibition of his work was installed at the Kunstbau at Lehnbachhaus in Munich. Exhibitions in 2011 include The time that remains – Le temps qui reste – De tijd die blijft at WIELS, Brussels, Belgium; David Claerbout: Architecture of Narrative, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, USA; and a show at Yvon Lambert, New York.
He is represented by Hauser & Wirth Zürich London, Galerie Micheline Szwajcer, Antwerp and Galerie Johnen + Schöttle, Cologne.
