David Campany is a writer, curator, artist and Reader in Photography at the University of Westminster, London. His books include Art and Photography (Phaidon 2003), Photography and Cinema (Reaktion 2008), ANONYMES: l’amérique sand nom- photographies et cinema (Steidl/Le Bal, 2010) and Jeff Wall: Picture for Women (Afterall, MIT 2011). His essays have appeared in numerous books. He writes for Photoworks, Aperture, Frieze, Source, The Oxford Art Journal, and PA magazine. He has lectured at Tate Modern, The Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Helsinki, La Casa Encendida Madrid and The photographers' Gallery London. He is a contributor to the BBC television series The Genius of Photography (2006/7).
In 2005 his collaborative project with Polly Braden Adventures in the Valley was shown at the ICA, London.
