Photoworks is a registered charity and is governed by a Board of Trustees.

Julian Rodriguez (Chairperson)

Julian Rodriguez is Head of Media at Falmouth University. He was formerly Head of Photography at London College of Printing and Dean of the School of Media at London College of Communication. He was instrumental in bringing the Stanley Kubrick Archives to the University of the Arts London.

Charlotte Cotton

Creative Director of the National Media Museum, London. Charlotte was formerly Curator and Department Head of Photographs at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Head of Programming at The Photographers' Gallery in London and Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Oliver Chanarin

Oliver is an artist based in London, and member of the artistic partnership of Broomberg & Chanarin. They have exhibited widely internationally and published a number of books. Their Photoworks commission, Fig., 2007, was first shown at the John Hansard Gallery, Southampton and published as an acclaimed bookwork. Visit his website here

Jane Finnis 

Jane is Chief Executive of Culture24, an independent charity who support thousands of arts and heritage organisations to reach audiences on digital platforms. She was formerly Director of Lighthouse, Brighton and is the Chair of the international Culturemondo network.

Gilane Tawadros

Gilane Tawadros is Director of DACS. A writer and curator, she was the founding Director of inIVA and Curator of the 2007 Brighton Photo Biennial. She is President of the Board of the International Foundation Manifesta, and a Board member of the A Foundation.

Karen Norquay

Karen Norquay is Head of School for Arts & Media at the University of Brighton and is also a practising photographer both in the fields of research and editorial photography.

Mark Power

Mark Power is an established Magnum Photographer and Professor of Photography at the University of Brighton. 

Mark Waugh

Mark Waugh is the Director of 13 Strand, a strategic consultancy group. Mark is also an established author, writing the cult novel Come, and more recently Bubble Entendre.

Matt Locke

Matt Locke is Director of Storythings, a crossmedia company dedicated to exploring new ways of telling stories. He was formerly Commissioning Editor for Education and New Media at Channel 4. Before joining the BBC, Matt worked as a curator and writer, specialising in the social adoption of technology and the cultural impact of digital technology, and still continues to write regularly about these themes for journals, websites and his own site at http://www.test.org.uk

Prof David A Mellor

David Mellor is Professor of Art History at the University of Sussex. Prof Mellor began teaching at Sussex in 1975 and has subsequently worked internationally as an independent curator. A former Chair of the Art Panel of the Arts Council of England, Professor Mellor is now Chair of the Photography and New Media panel for the same organisation.

Salman Momen

Salman Momen is Head of Digital Media for CVL, an independent business and technology consultancy. Previously, Salman was Director of Media Technology Services, for CapGemini in which he led teams working on E-commerce and Advertising at Yell, Technical Architecture at EMI Music, Broadcast Music Rights Management for Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), and new Digital Workflows for Publishing at Getty Images.
